Oklahoman witnessed moments of historic bomb drops

ARDMORE -- Many people can claim they witnessed a historic event. But an Ardmore man was there for two of them.

Edwin J. Willingham was watching a radar screen in the B-29 that dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, then in the same seat on another B-29 that unleashed an atomic bomb on Nagasaki.

The events led to the Japanese surrender which ended World War II.
