SHREVEPORT, La. — It's no wonder Tyler Tettleton has the ability to stand in the pocket, oblivious to the half-a-ton of human beef often looking to take his head off. For most of his 22 years on earth, pressure has surrounded Ohio University's quarterback — he just hasn't felt it.

Tettleton grew up in Norman as the son of a major league baseball player, Mickey Tettleton. Mickey's career in the big leagues spanned 14 years, He combined to hit 245 home runs as a member of four teams and was a two-time American League All-Star (1989, '94).

Despite Mickey's impressive resume as a professional athlete, Tyler never felt pressure to succeed, or even play, sports — especially baseball.

“He let me do my thing,” Tyler Tettleton said. “That's what I love about him; he just wants the best for me and he's always there supporting me.”
