A spring break trip to Ireland for some Bartlesville music students was extended, but not by their choice.

The students' flight home was delayed by an airline strike. Their return now is scheduled for Tuesday, the Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise reported.

The students marched in Dublin’s St. Patrick’s Day parade and got to see some of the sights.

But the group then was forced by a German airline strike to wait for a trip back to the United States.

The group is part of the more than 200 Bruin Brigade Marching Band, Bartlesville High School Orchestra and Bartlesville High School Choir students who left March 15 for a week’s stay in Dublin.

Most of those who made the trip returned as planned, but the strike by workers with the German airline Lufthansa caused delays for others, about 30 people in all.
