Oklahoma's victory over A&M a testament to Sooners' good-hands people, Barry Switzer and Bob Barry Sr.

OU REPORT CARD — The Sooners' good-hands people ruled the field while salutes to young Barry Switzer and Bob Barry Sr. highlighted the event that was Oklahoma 41, Texas A&m 25.

Bob Barry salute: A. The OU band spelled out “Thanks Bob,” and the video board displayed a short clip from Barry, talking about how lucky he was. Classy, and just the right touch for the legendary radio voice who died last weekend at the age of 80.

Backups: A. In the wake of injuries, the Sooners got quality play from nickel back Joseph Ibiloye (subbing for Tony Jefferson), middle linebacker Jaydan Bird (Tom Wort) and tailback Roy Finch (Dom Whaley).

Band rebuttal: A. Hard to follow the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band, but the Pride of Oklahoma put up a good fight. You can't go wrong with “Boogie Woogie Bugel Boy,” and twirler Megan McGeary's handled her baton flawlessly even after setting both ends on fire.

Belldozer: A. The Sooners used the Blake Bell formation 10 times in short-yardage situations. They converted eight of those plays, including two for touchdowns. The new wrinkles this week included a pass (Bell threw incomplete), a reverse to Ryan Broyles (someone else will have to fill that role) for a first down and a double-fullback set in which Bell just follows blockers Trey Millard and Aaron Ripkowski through the line.
