Oklahoma's Woman of the Year: Dawn Welch
What a difference a year makes.
In 2008, Dawn Welch watched Stroud’s historic Rock Cafe, which she has owned since 1993, burn down.
A year and nine days later, in May 2009, she reopened the cafe with the original walls, which had been erected when the cafe was built on Route 66 in 1939. In rebuilding, she went through the arduous task of maintaining the cafe’s historic landmark status.
