MIDWEST CITY — Carl Albert running back David Oku has decided to postpone his college decision. Oku was scheduled to announce his college choice on Newsok.com on Wednesday but changed his mind after speaking with his father, Bo Oku, earlier this week.

Bo, who is currently serving in Iraq, told David he would likely be back sometime in October, spurring his son’s decision to take more time before announcing his college choice.

“I thought I was ready,” David said. “But when he said he was coming back, I started thinking about it a little more and figured I’d wait until he got back.”

Oku, who rushed for 162 yards and three touchdowns on eight carries in Carl Albert’s 42-20 win over Choctaw on Friday night, has narrowed his potential college destinations to Louisville, Michigan, Nebraska and Tennessee.
