We in the media can never complain about the conditions and amenities at American sporting events.

Ever. Again. Because Sochi is stealing the show for bad conditions and unpreparedness, as shared by a throng of journalists online.

As quoted by the Mail Online (U.K.): The few that did get rooms, were met with stray dogs, half-built walls, a lobby with no floor and yellow water spitting from the sinks.

The lack of preparation by Russia for the journalists (and most importantly, the athletes) raises concerns about how countries like Brazil will handle future international sporting events. Rio de Janeiro gets the World Cup this summer and the Olympics in 2016, and multiple stories have already been written about the Brazilian government's scramble to get ready for the world's premier soccer event.

The sights of Sochi captured by the media won't help dispel those concerns.
