On tap: This week in high school sports

The BSN Sports/Pro Nine Classic and the Edmond North Randy Hart Invitational are among the events coming up this week.

BSN Sports/Pro Nine Classic

When: Thursday-Saturday

Where: Deer Creek/Guthrie

The story: Every team in the eight-team field is ranked in the top 20 in either Class 6A or 5A. The field is highlighted by 6A No. 3 Edmond North, No. 8 Norman North, 5A No. 4 Deer Creek and No. 6 Bishop McGuinness. The finals are scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at Deer Creek.



Edmond North Randy Hart Invitational

When: Thursday

Where: Lincoln Park West Course

The story: Class 6A boys golf has been ultracompetitive this season, and several of the top teams and individuals will be in the field for this 36-hole event.


Mustang at Norman North

When: 6 p.m. Tuesday

Where: Norman North

The story: Both games feature matchups of top 10 teams. On the girls side, Norman North is No. 2 while Mustang is No. 9 and on the boys, Norman North is No. 6 and Mustang is No. 7.


OBU Bison Invitational

When: 9 a.m. Tuesday

Where: Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee

The story: Always a good draw, the Bison Invitational brings a wide variety of talented athletes from large and small schools alike. The all-day meet splits into two divisions, one for Class 5A and 6A, and one for Class 4A and below.


Metro Conference Tournament

When: Thursday

Where: Oklahoma City Tennis Center

The story: Defending state champions Edmond North highlight both the boys and girls fields in the conference tournament that also includes Choctaw, Edmond Santa Fe, Mustang and Putnam City North among others.
