On the job: Small business event set

A Minority Business Summit focusing on preparing small business owners to secure contracts with the government tribes or other entities that grant contracts is scheduled for March 25 in Shawnee. The Women’s Business Center of Rural Enterprises of Oklahoma is presenting the free event from 8:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the Citizen Potawatomi Nation Pow Wow Grounds South Reunion Hall, 1700 Gordon Cooper Drive. Speakers will help the small business owner with Central Contractor Registration, getting a Dunns number and industry code. Information will also be provided about databases to explore opportunities for contracting, how to market the business, SBA procedures to help the small business owner and bonding for contracting purposes.
