Opera stars to headline Oklahoma City church's concert to benefit tornado victims

Westminster Presbyterian Church will host “Faith Hope Love,” a musical event and art action, at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4400 N Shartel. The event will benefit Oklahoma tornado victims and recovery efforts.

Featured musicians will include opera singers Leona Mitchell, David Robinson, Thomas Studebaker and Jeffrey Wells and the Westminster Pipe Band. Several area choirs will sing together with full orchestra, performing various arias by Puccini, Bizet and more. Bagpipes will join choir and orchestra to perform “Highland Cathedral” and “Amazing Grace.”

Brad Ferguson, of KCSC Radio, will host the event.

The art auction will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Westminster Garden Court. The concert will be at 8 p.m. Suggested donation is $25. Event organizers said the goal is to raise $50,000 to be given to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, an organization working in Oklahoma to assist in tornado recovery efforts.
