Opposing abortion not a 'war on women'

Those who support abortion talk about how opposing women's rights is “a war on women.” Christian conservatives have turned their churches into political machines. I'm a woman and a Christian who attends church regularly. In our church the Bible is taught and we're guided by its principles. Politics isn't taught, but we have the freedom to vote our beliefs as guaranteed in the Constitution. No one else has the right to deny us that freedom just because those beliefs disagree with their beliefs.

I have mixed feelings about some contraceptive methods, but that's a woman's and her doctor's choice. I don't understand women who insist that their right to abortion is more important than the life of the innocent child in their womb. That's a human life from conception; abortion is killing that tiny life. That life has as much right to live as the woman who carries it. How a woman can just get rid of that life as an inconvenience is beyond my comprehension.

There are some instances where an abortion might be appropriate, such as to save the mother's life. Otherwise it's no different than killing a child after it's born. There are a number of ways to prevent pregnancies in the first place.
