OR Gov. hopes to help human services with bailout

SALEM , Ore. (AP) — Gov. Ted Kulongoski hopes to use the ballooning federal bailout package to bolster Oregon's human services hit in his budget proposal.

Speaking at a news editor's meeting at the Capitol on Thursday, Kulongoski said that human services suffered some serious cuts in his December proposal, but that some of the difference could be made up by an eventual federal bailout package.
