Orange suspiciously absent for OSU football uniforms so far

Some OSU football fans have been asking when the orange uniforms will make a comeback. “We will wear orange,” said OSU equipment manager Wes Edwards. “I promise.”

And with 48 different options, Edwards had to remind the players not to forget that orange was part of the repertoire.

The Cowboys have instead opted to wear gray, with the jerseys making their debut against Louisiana-Lafayette and the pants and helmets at Texas A&M. Or black jerseys and pants against Arizona.

“I think people are just so scared of change,” OSU quarterback Brandon Weeden said. “But as players, we love it. We want to wear something new every game. You can't please everybody. We understand that.”

OSU athletic director Mike Holder has gotten emails from fans complaining about the lack of orange. Edwards has heard the rumblings, too.

But Edwards assures that the orange jerseys and/or pants are coming soon. He just won't reveal when.

“We'll get orange out there, if people just be patient,” Edwards said. “We will wear orange. I promise.”
