LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Re-enactors will revisit the early day of the Oregon Trail during an annual pageant at Ash Hollow State Historical Park in Nebraska's western panhandle.

The pageant, titled "Early Emigrants on the Oregon Trail," will take place June 14 at the park near Lewellen on U.S. Highway 26. Performers in costume will relive stories from the diaries of pioneers who traveled west for the 2,200-mile journey in the 1800s.

The program begins at 6:30 p.m. Before the show, a chuck wagon dinner of roast beef, fry bread and baked beans cooked over a campfire will be served.

Visitors also are encouraged to visit other historical sites and points of interest, including the rock schoolhouse, sod house, historical grave sites and the park's visitors' center.
