Orioles, Nelson Cruz agree to 1-year, $8M contract

The Baltimore Orioles have agreed to a one-year, $8 million contract with free agent slugger Nelson Cruz, ESPN and multiple media outlets are reporting.



Cruz, a former Oklahoma City RedHawks and Texas Rangers standout, is one of several free agents whose signability has been hurt this offseason because they turned down qualifying offers from their previous teams, meaning the club signing them would lose a top draft pick.
