MOUNTAIN PARK — A man was shot late Tuesday in Kiowa County after what investigators said may have been a home invasion.
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown said a man responded to a knock on his door shortly before midnight. When he answered, the man standing at the door hit him with a large metal pipe, according to an OSBI news release.
The homeowner then shot the man several times with a small caliber handgun. The man who was shot went to his home several blocks away to call the Kiowa County sheriff’s office.
He was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital with injuries that could be life threatening, Brown said.
The Kiowa County sheriff’s office requested OSBI assistance in investigating the shooting, Brown said. Because no arrests had been made as of Wednesday afternoon, investigators have not released the names of the homeowner or the shooting victim.
