OSSAA offers replacement memorabilia to tornado victims

by Ryan Aber Published: May 22, 2013

The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association announced Wednesday it would replace some state championship and playoff-related memorabilia lost in this weeks’ tornado at no charge.

The OSSAA will replace lost trophies, plaques, medals and state championship t-shirts for any school, coach, director or student who lost the items in the storm. Those affected should first contact the school for which they participated to let them know of their loss. School administrators will then contact the OSSAA to report the items that need to be replaced.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors and the OSSAA staff, we wish to extend our sympathy for those that gave recently lost so much,” the OSSAA’s Justin Tinder said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those that are suffering from such a tragic and great loss.”

Programs from the events can not be replaced, according to the statement.

To report a loss, administrators can contact Tinder at 405-840-1116 or by e-mail at jtinder@ossaa.com.
