STILLWATER — Oklahoma State scored late on Sunday — with the help of an off-target pitcher — and beat Texas Tech 8-3 before 412 fans who sat through two hours of cold, rainy weather to watch a Big 12 baseball game at Reynolds Stadium.

OSU (22-10 overall, 5-4 Big 12) won two of three games in the series, although it had to come back against a tough Texas Tech (24-11, 5-7) squad on Sunday. The Red Raiders had a 2-0 lead after 61/2 innings, before the Cowboys answered with four runs in the bottom of the seventh and eighth innings.

Pinch-hitter Saulyer Saxon led the seventh-inning rally with a two-run single that gave OSU a 3-2 lead. The Cowboys took control in the eighth inning, though they managed just one hit. Tech reliever Cameron Smith walked Saxon with the bases loaded to give OSU a 5-3 lead, and then hit three consecutive batters — Craig McConaughy, Gage Green and Donnie Walton — to force in three more runs.

Closer Brendan McCurry pitched the final 11/3 innings and notched his seventh save of the season.

OSU next plays 6:30 p.m. Tuesday against Arkansas-Little Rock at Reynolds Stadium.
