STILLWATER — Three Oklahoma State women’s basketball players have been granted releases from their scholarships and will leave the program.

Sophomore Jenni Bryan’s departure was disclosed in a text message to The Oklahoman from OSU coach Jim Littell. A source said she will transfer to Oral Roberts.

The Tulsa World reported that Vicky McIntyre and Taylor Schippers will also leave the program.

Bryan, from Coweta, was recruited heavily by Oral Roberts out of high school but ultimately signed with the Cowgirls.

Bryan saw her minutes fade as her sophomore year went on at OSU. She scored 10 second-half points and hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 28 seconds left in the Cowgirls’ mid-January win over rival Oklahoma, but ended the season averaging just 8.6 minutes and 1.7 points per game.

She must sit out a season, per NCAA rules, but will have two years of eligibility after that because she didn’t redshirt at Oklahoma State.

Bryan is the daughter of the late Ricky Bryan, who was a two-time All-American defensive lineman at OU and played nine seasons in the NFL.

Schippers started 17 games as a freshman last season, averaging 3.8 points in 17.3 minutes per game.

McIntyre, a sophomore reserve, averaged 4.0 points and 4.1 rebounds last season.

Oklahoma State won the WNIT championship on April 1, capping an emotional season that began with coach Kurt Budke and assistant Miranda Serna dying in a plane crash.
