Boston is a popular landing spot for former Oklahoma State point guard Marcus Smart in NBA mock drafts.

Friday, Smart was part of a group workout with the Celtics, and the selection would make sense. The Celtics have the No. 6 pick in the June 26 NBA Draft.

Rumors continue to float from Boston about possibly trading point guard Rajon Rondo, and as CelticsBlog.com points out, taking Smart would allow Boston to ease him in with Rondo and shooting guard Avery Bradley, giving the Celtics flexibility in their plans.

And you would think Danny Ainge, Boston’s president of basketball operations, would be a fan of Smart’s hard-nosed style. He said as much in a May interview with ESPN.

Smart also drew praise from ESPN’s Jeff Goodman for his tenacity in team workouts.
