For the Cowboys or Sooners to remain in the Big 12 Conference race, winning Monday night's first Bedlam clash would seem vital.

Both teams have two league losses, leaving them two games behind Kansas.

Still, OSU coach Travis Ford won't place too much weight on the matchup.

“Oh … it's the next one,” Ford said. “It's no more important than any. We know it's a rivalry game, and it's fun for the fans. But for our team and his team, it's the next game.

“We're both playing pretty decent basketball. It'll be a hard-fought game. They're just playing unbelievably well. They're one of the top scoring teams in the country and playing defense. It's going to be a great challenge for our basketball team; it's going to be tough.”

“It's a great sparkplug for this team when I do a dunk like that and the crowd gets rowdy. It gives a boost of energy for the defense.”
