OSU basketball notebook: Kansas coach Bill Self salutes Keiton Page

Former OSU star Self on Page: “I love guys like that who are tough. He gets everyone's best shot, everyone's best defender every night and he still finds a way to get his shot off.”

One of Kansas' primary goals Saturday was to limit Keiton Page's opportunities to shoot.

While OSU has seen more scoring options revealed in recent weeks, Jayhawks coach Bill Self said Page is still the guy to contain on defense.

Self also spoke of his respect for Page.

“I've known of Keiton for a long time,” Self said. “If I'm not mistaken, he is in the top 10 in Oklahoma State scoring history. I'm a little disappointed he passed me the second game of his sophomore season in the scoring ranks, but I think he is certainly one of those guys that I admire.

“I love guys like that who are tough. He gets everyone's best shot, everyone's best defender every night and he still finds a way to get his shot off.”

UP NEXT

The Cowboys continue a two-game road stretch Wednesday at Missouri.

Game time in Columbia is 8 p.m. with a telecast on ESPN2.

OSU won the first meeting, knocking off the then-No. 2 Tigers 79-72 in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
