Marcus Smart was named to the All-Big 12 first team for the second straight year, with results of the coaches’ voting released by the league office Sunday.

Smart becomes just the second two-time All-Big 12 selection for OSU, joining John Lucas (2004, 2005). He’s the 13th two-time, all-conference pick in program history.

The sophomore did not repeat as Big 12 Player of the Year, with that honor going to Iowa State’s Melvin Ejim. Smart, however, was a unanimous pick to the Big 12 All-Defensive team for the second consecutive year.

Also for the Cowboys, Markel Brown was voted to the All-Big 12 Second Team for the second straight year, while Le’Bryan Nash was honorable mention. Phil Forte was named co-Sixth Man Award winner, sharing that honor with Oklahoma’s Tyler Neal.
