Oklahoma State opens the Big 12 portion of its basketball schedule on the road – at Kansas State, Jan. 5 – an early challenge in its bid to climb into contention in the conference.

One week later: Bedlam, in Norman.

The Big 12 announced its complete conference schedule Thursday, with much interest focused on when and where teams would first encounter the league's new teams, TCU and West Virginia.

For the Cowboys, they'll get an early look at the Horned Frogs, who visit Gallagher-Iba Arena Jan. 9 for OSU's conference home opener. West Virginia travels to Stillwater Jan. 26.

The return dates for the Cowboys are four days apart late in the regular season: Feb. 23 at WVU and Feb. 27 at TCU.

Other key conference dates for OSU: at Baylor for a rare 4:30 p.m. tip in the first half of a Big Monday doubleheader Jan. 21; at Kansas Feb. 2; Bedlam in Stillwater Feb. 16; and Kansas in Gallagher-Iba Feb. 20.

The Cowboys, who finished last season at 15-18 overall and 7-11 in the Big 12, will be on television 18 times, including 11 appearances on the ESPN networks. The other seven broadcasts will be carried by the Big 12 Network.
