Oklahoma State sophomore Daytawion Lowe suffered a devastating injury before last season even started.

This season, he's starting at free safety after Johnny Thomas was ruled ineligible for the whole season.

But Lowe had a stellar performance Thursday, making seven tackles, breaking up an Arizona pass on a fourth-and-goal and forcing a fumble.

Is it a challenge knowing that you're the starting free safety all year now?

“I practiced like I was going to be the starter the whole year, so I'm just out there playing.”

Is Markelle Martin talking to you out there?

“He's been a great help. He's put me in a spot where I feel comfortable out there.”

What's something you need to improve on?

“I need to get better at a lot of things. There is so much room for improvement. But I'd say (the thing I need to improve on the most) is getting tighter and closer to the routes to make more plays.”
