The Cowboys just keep marking off items on the checklist. Can't win in Lubbock? Check. Can't win in Manhattan? Check. Can't win in Austin? Check. Ten-win regular season? Check. Next: Beat OU and win the Big 12 South.
John Helsley gives you five Cowboys on the spot:
QB BRANDON WEEDEN
All year long, the unflappable Weeden has provided calm and cool for the youthful Cowboys. They'll be looking for it again — as well as his usual potent production — on the biggest stage yet.
WR JUSTIN BLACKMON
Blackmon's ankle has been a source of speculation throughout the week. He'll play, yet will he be 100 percent? Blackmon's stretch-the-field skills are vital to the offense running full throttle, a necessity tonight.
OT NICK MARTINEZ
The Cowboys offensive line has been superb at keeping Weeden clean, yet this is a stiff challenge. Martinez finds himself matched against Sooners DE Jeremy Beal, one of the Big 12's best pass rushers.
CB BRODRICK BROWN
Wideout Ryan Broyles means as much to the Sooners as Blackmon does to the Cowboys. A dynamic receiver and yards-after-catch threat, he stresses a secondary from the snap. Brown and OSU's DBs are on alert.
DE RICHETTI JONES
Sooners QB Landry Jones has been erratic on the road and on the rare occasions he's been pressured. Richetti Jones' quickness and evolving confidence make him OSU's best pass-rush threat.
