Kenneth McGruder became the newest member of Oklahoma State’s 2015 recruiting class Tuesday night.
McGruder, a 6-foot-2, 203-pound safety from Alief Taylor High school in Houston, was a high school teammate of 2014 signees Chris Hardeman and Keenan Brown.
Scout.com and Rivals both list McGruder as a three-star prospect. He had more than 60 tackles and three interceptions as a junior and was Second Team All-District 18-5A selection.
McGruder had more than 20 scholarship offers, and considered LSU, Nebraska and Missouri, among others.
He could be a key target as OSU looks to rebuild depth at the safety position after graduating Daytawion Lowe and Shamiel Gary after the 2013 season.
McGruder offers ideal size for the safety spot and is listed with a 4.5 40-yard dash time.
