Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon have both been named semifinalists for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, which is given annually to the nation's top player.

OSU is the only school to have two players still in contention for the award.

Weeden, who is also a Heisman candidate, has amassed 3,635 passing yards and 31 touchdowns this season. Blackmon, the reigning Biletnikoff Award winner, has tallied 93 catches for 1,142 yards and leads the nation with 14 receiving touchdowns.

The five finalists for the award will be named Nov. 30. The winner will be announced Dec. 8.

Heisman voting officially opened Wednesday after ballots were distributed to the 927 electors on Monday.

Voters will have until 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, to cast their ballot through an online system.

The electorate includes 870 media members, all 56 living Heisman winners and one overall fan vote.

Fans can vote for their favorite Heisman candidate at TheHeismanVote.com until Nov. 30.

OSU coach Mike Gundy has said repeatedly that he has been impressed with the way the players and coaches have handled the newfound attention and pressure that comes with being the No. 2 team in the BCS standings.
