As a player, Mike Gundy had a perfect 4-0 record against Missouri. So far as a head coach, he’s 0-1, but he has a chance this week to keep a different winning streak alive.

Oklahoma State’s last four head coaches — Jimmy Johnson, Pat Jones, Bob Simmons and Les Miles — all won their first game at Missouri.

But Gundy would feel better about it if he were playing those Tiger teams he faced as the Cowboys’ quarterback from 1986-89.

"I liked Missouri then better than I do now,” Gundy said with a laugh. "We were 4-0, so I have a lot of good memories.

"But that doesn’t factor in. Half of (the current players) weren’t born when I was playing.”

‘Dumb’ penalties
OSU has the second-most penalty yards in the Big 12 with 402. Gundy shared his thought process regarding penalties:

"You have really dumb penalties, and you have some where guys are playing aggressive and it just kind of happens.
