No BCS? Cotton’s the next best thing
A Cotton Bowl berth isn’t a bad consolation prize for the Cowboys. During Tuesday’s media luncheon, several OSU players said they felt the chance to play in a post-New Year’s Day bowl is a great opportunity.

"The Cotton Bowl is one of those bowls if you miss the BCS; there is really no dropoff by going there,” senior running back Keith Toston said. "That’s how our team feels. We didn’t get to make the BCS this year, but the Cotton Bowl is one of the bigger bowls that is out there.”

Said defensive end Jermiah Price: "We’re happy with what we got, because we’ve earned everything we’ve got. We’re playing in the Cotton Bowl; it’s the closest bowl to going to a BCS bowl. We’re happy with that.”

And the opportunity to play in Cowboys Stadium is just icing on the cake.

"This year we get the chance to play in that stadium, and that’s big,” Toston said. "There aren’t a lot of college teams that have had the opportunity to play in that stadium and we’re fortunate to be one of them.”
