Linebacker Orie Lemon ran a disappointing 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine clocking 4.99, but the All-Big 12 linebacker improved his time running a 4.87 in the 40 during Oklahoma State pro day on Wednesday morning at Boone Pickens Stadium.
“I just tried to do better than I did at the combine,” Lemon said. “A week before the combine, I tweaked my hamstring, so the combine was actually my first time back running full (speed).”
In addition to his one 40-yard dash, Lemon did record a 9-foot, 5-inch broad jump and 31-inch vertical before tweaking the injury again.
“The numbers are the numbers,” Lemon said. “If they want me to run it again, I'll work on my hamstring, then run it again.”
Bowling was arguably the most impressive Cowboy on Wednesday with strong showings during all of the drills. The Tonkawa native led the way with a 35.5-inch vertical leap the best of the day and also had a strong 40-yard dash with various times ranging from 4.43-4.52.
Bowling also recorded a 9-foot, 7-inch broad jump and 16 reps of 225 in the bench press.
