Robinson rests again

Cowboys quarterback Zac Robinson, nursing a sore hamstring, was limited again Tuesday as the team worked through its first two-a-day practices.

Gundy said he took it as an opportunity to get a closer look at backups Alex Cate and Brandon Weeden, who are battling for the No. 2 job.

"(Zac’s) better,” Gundy said. "He probably could have practiced this afternoon. We may hold him another day or two.

"I’ll be honest with you, I’m really enjoying the other two quarterbacks learn from trial and error and make good plays, make some mistakes. And that’s what they’ve done. They’ve made more good plays than mistakes. It gives them an opportunity to split the reps with the ones and that’s really good for us.”

Recruiting Tool

Oklahoma State’s prominent place on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s College Football Preview edition won’t go unnoticed by recruits.

Even the ones who don’t subscribe.

Pictures of the cover — which hits newsstands today — are already loaded in the program’s e-mail system, ready to be sent out.

"I don’t know that they have it right now,” Gundy said. "I’m guessing that they’ll have a copy of it. It’s on our e-mail right now.”
