OSU also ranks third in the nation in total offense (548.57 yards per game) and second in passing offense (387.43 yards per game).
JONES HEADED TO HALL
Former Oklahoma State football coach Pat Jones will be inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. Jones was a defensive assistant under Jimmy Johnson at OSU. Jones, a native of Little Rock, Ark., took over as Cowboys head coach in 1984, when Johnson left for the University of Miami. Jones was the first OSU coach to win 10 games in a season; the Cowboys did it three times under Jones in 1984, 1987 and 1988. Gundy and Pro Football Hall of Fame running backs Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas played under Jones.
Before coming to Oklahoma, Jones played football at Arkansas Tech and the University of Arkansas. He also coached high school football in Arkansas.
