OSU football notebook: Mike Gundy happy with progress on offense

“It's not the information he has, it's how he's able to communicate with you. He has an air and confidence about him were he'll ask a question a young guy won't. He'll tell you he doesn't like it, where a young guy won't, they'll just sit there and say, ‘Yes, coach.' He communicates, and that's the key to any relationship, and that's what he's great at.”

WEEDEN IS NOT THE ONLY TUTOR ON CAMPUS

While the dynamics of Weeden and Monken have garnered plenty of attention, the Cowboys other two newcomers to the coaching staff, Kasey Dunn and Jemal Singleton, have been trying to learn the offense as well.

Receiver Justin Blackmon has helped tutor Dunn, the new receivers coach. Running back Joseph Randle has helped tutor Singleton, the new running backs coach.

“We've been helping each other out,” Blackmon said of the give-and-take with Dunn. “He's been watching tape on us, and we've been trying to break it down in the most simple way for him to learn and for us to get in a rhythm with each other. He's been studying us, and we've been trying to help him learn the system.”
