OSU sets season-ticket sales record
Oklahoma State football season ticket sales had reached a total of 38,590 on Tuesday, setting a school record. The previous mark of 38,504 was set in 2004, after the Cowboys' Cotton Bowl appearance against Mississippi at the end of the 2003 season.

OSU surpassed last year's season ticket total of 33,700 weeks ago. The record in season ticket sales comes in conjunction with the opening of new seating in the west end zone of Boone Pickens Stadium.

The expansion raised the stadium's capacity from 44,700 to 60,000. Oklahoma State opened its home schedule with a crowd of 45,001 for the win over Houston, the largest crowd at Boone Pickens Stadium since the 2005 Texas game, when 48,035 watched the Cowboys and second-ranked Longhorns.

The actual attendance at Saturday's game has been a topic of conversation, because with the west end zone nearly packed, it was hard to pinpoint the other 14,999 empty seats.

"I didn't want to bring that up. It's kind of like officials. You're not supposed to talk about it. I guess there were 15,000 empty seats somewhere.”

•Chasing 1,000... again: In the season opener against Washington State, OSU quarterback Zac Robinson reached 1,000 career rushing yards. Late in Saturday's win over Houston, running back Kendall Hunter surpassed 1,000 career rushing yards as well.
