IN FOCUS: IOWA STATE
Junior quarterback
Austen Arnaud is expected to return to the starting lineup for Iowa State when the Cyclones host OSU on Saturday. Arnaud has missed ISU’s last two games with a bruised throwing hand.
Freshman
Jerome Tiller started both games in Arnaud’s absence and led the Cyclones to a 9-7 win at
Nebraska on Oct. 24.
"(Arnaud) may be a better runner,” said OSU defensive coordinator
Bill Young. "There’s not that much difference, one of them is No. 11 (Tiller), one of them is No. 4 (Arnaud). They’re both tall, they’re both athletic and they can beat you running or passing.”
REMAINING GROUNDED
Iowa State promises to provide one of the strongest tests of OSU’s run defense this weekend.
The Cyclones rank No. 18 in the nation and first in the Big 12 in rushing offense at 200.3 yards per game. Running back
Alexander Robinson leads the conference in rushing at 101.6 rushing yards per contest.
"We work hard on stopping the run first,” senior defensive tackle
Swanson Miller said. "In order to be a good defense, you have to stop the run. We take pride in stopping the run.”
