All-America running back Kendall Hunter returned to action against Texas but had just one carry for 1 yard. OSU coach Mike Gundy said Hunter’s status for Saturday’s game at Iowa State will remain a game-time decision.

"We expect him to practice this week and move forward,” Gundy said. "Essentially, it’s the same thing he’s done the last few weeks. Hopefully, we’ll get him for some more plays this week.”

OSU-TEXAS TECH SET FOR 7 P.M.
OSU’s Nov. 14 game against Texas Tech will kick off at 7 p.m. on ABC (Cox 8). OSU is 6-2 overall, 3-1 in the Big 12. Texas Tech is 6-3 and 3-2.

It will be the Cowboys’ third straight game on ABC and the Pokes’ fourth appearance on the network this season.

OSU faces Iowa State on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on ABC.

IN FOCUS: IOWA STATE
Junior quarterback Austen Arnaud is expected to return to the starting lineup for Iowa State when the Cyclones host OSU on Saturday. Arnaud has missed ISU’s last two games with a bruised throwing hand.

Freshman Jerome Tiller started both games in Arnaud’s absence and led the Cyclones to a 9-7 win at Nebraska on Oct. 24.

"(Arnaud) may be a better runner,” said OSU defensive coordinator Bill Young. "There’s not that much difference, one of them is No. 11 (Tiller), one of them is No. 4 (Arnaud). They’re both tall, they’re both athletic and they can beat you running or passing.”

REMAINING GROUNDED
Iowa State promises to provide one of the strongest tests of OSU’s run defense this weekend.

The Cyclones rank No. 18 in the nation and first in the Big 12 in rushing offense at 200.3 yards per game. Running back Alexander Robinson leads the conference in rushing at 101.6 rushing yards per contest.

"We work hard on stopping the run first,” senior defensive tackle Swanson Miller said. "In order to be a good defense, you have to stop the run. We take pride in stopping the run.”

Will they go after a medical redshirt for Hunter? I think that was talked about earlier in the season. Not sure what his 1 play in the Texas game does for that possibility. In any case, if he IS just setting out to protect his status, I think the pros would then question his heart.

Joe, same reason Darrent Williams didn't want to play. He wants to protect his status for the pro combines in the Spring. He saw what happened to SB when he came back.
