OSU football recruiting: Dawson Bassett takes big brother Coopers advice, takes Mike Gundy's call

“I've been telling people when it's all said and done for Dawson at OSU his stats and his career are going to be more impressive than my own,” Cooper said.

“Everyone's going to remember his name. People will be calling me his brother instead of the other way around.”

At 6-foot-4, 215 pounds Dawson went through the recruiting process without a definite position.

As a wide receiver and linebacker at Tuttle this season, Bassett had 32 receptions, 780 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, along with 106 tackles, six interceptions and four sacks.

He will head to Oklahoma State with the expectation to play outside linebacker.

“I was recruited as an athlete, and it's still not 100 percent for sure, but as of right now I'm going to OSU as an outside linebacker,” Dawson said.

Dawson is the only Oklahoman in Oklahoma State's 2013 recruiting class.
