OSU football recruiting: Jeremiah Ledbetter's many moves put him square in Cowboys' sights

Schools search far and wide for defensive tackles, with the possibilities at the position both limited and coveted.

Jeremiah Ledbetter eased the search for Oklahoma State.

A one-time resident of Orlando, Fla., Ledbetter moved onto Glenn Spencer's radar by moving to Gainesville, Ga., for his senior season of high school. Spencer, OSU's defensive coordinator, is a Georgia native who has made a habit of pulling quality players out of his home state.

From there, Ledbetter moved even closer, spending two seasons at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas – one last checkpoint on his way to Stillwater. Hutch, long an area mined by the Cowboys, is also a junior college known well by OSU defensive tackles coach Joe Bob Clements, a former Kansas State assistant.

So Ledbetter eventually came into clear sight of Spencer and Clements, the two men charged with solidifying the Cowboys' defensive front.

“The facilities are the best and they have good people there and a good school,” Ledbetter told Scout.com when he committed back in June. “I have a good relationship with coach Clements and Coach Spencer.”
