OSU football recruiting: Offensive lineman Jack Kurzu excited to work with Cowboys OL coach Joe Wickline

Offensive lineman Jack Kurzu was Oklahoma State's second commit of the 2013 class, pledging to the Cowboys all the way back in April.

The earliest – wide receiver Fred Ross – is wavering from his commitment in the 11th hour, with many believing he'll switch to Mississippi State. But that doesn't seem to be a problem for Kurzu.

The three-star tackle was sold on Stillwater from the beginning (“I love the campus, and I love everything about Oklahoma State,” he told on his initial visit.). And he's been nothing but complimentary ever since.

Much of that has to do with OSU offensive line coach Joe Wickline, widely considered one of the best in the business.

“I know he can do great things with me,” Kurzu told “I'm really excited about the opportunity at Oklahoma State.”

Kurzu is a 6-foot-4, 305-pounder out of St. Louis. He had interest from other big schools, including Notre Dame, Auburn, Florida and Oklahoma.

“This guy is a tough customer, demonstrating the nasty finishing effort we look for when evaluating offensive linemen,” one ESPN analyst wrote. “Kurzu does not appear to be an immediate starter at the BCS level of play. Some time and perhaps a red shirt year may be necessary to polish his skills.”
