A step forward?
Oklahoma State was poised for a "rebuilding year" in 2010 but sits at 8-1 with three games remaining. Here's what several OSU fans think that means about the program:
Jimmy Green of Guthrie: "(This season) certainly has energized my thoughts about the program. I always have had faith in Coach (Mike) Gundy and his staff, I knew it was a matter of time. (It) probably happened a couple of years earlier than I thought."
Jay Martin, Stillwater: "This season has certainly energized my mood, but it has also confirmed the fact that we have been building depth for years in the last few recruiting classes. It also proves that not only is Mike Gundy the perfect man to run the OSU program, but that he also knows how to build it for the long term future."
Rod Kelly, Spring, Texas: "I become more impressed with Gundy and what he is doing with the Cowboy program. He has brought in two excellent coordinators and seems to have a plan to take the Cowboys to a higher level than they've ever been."
Dave Treece, Baltimore: "I have been a Cowboy fan since the seventies. I've seen the highs, I've seen many lows as well. This year is another steppingstone of the continued success that is in the making and it starts with the leadership of (Mike) Holder, (Mike) Gundy and his coaching staff."
