No. 2 Texas Tech hosts No. 8 Oklahoma State tonight, and college football analysts across the country are talking about the defenses of both teams — in a positive way.

Since 2000, no team has fallen into the category of "they have a great offense, but...” more than Texas Tech. During that time, OSU’s best defense had been running the ball and running the clock.

But tonight at Jones AT&T Stadium, good defense could easily be the deciding factor.

During Big 12 play, Tech and OSU each rank either No. 1 or No. 2 in total yards and touchdowns allowed. For the season, both are in the top three in the conference in points and yards allowed.

With two of the top five scoring offenses in the country going at it, limiting the points and yards could be difficult tonight. But that makes every stop even bigger, every turnover more crucial.

Every big defensive play will get you closer to another big win.
