OSU football: 'Trail of Tears' College GameDay sign condemned by university

ESPN's College GameDay has become a must-watch show every Saturday morning, so much that fans have taken to making creative signs based on the feature game each week.

One sign went too far Saturday in Arlington, Texas, the site of OSU-Florida State -- Cowboys vs. Seminoles.

The sign which read "Send'em home" #trail_of_tears #gopokes" was originally favorited by the Oklahoma State Twitter account, but the university issued a brief statement against the sign and its offensive message via Twitter on Saturday.

In tweets to followers on Saturday, @okstate explained that it "missed the hashtag at first glance and unfavorited."
