Oklahoma State’s basketball schedule nears completion, buoyed by the recent addition of an appealing nonconference matchup: Maryland.

The Oklahoman has learned that the Cowboys and Terrapins have agreed to a home-and-home series that brings Maryland to Gallagher-Iba Arena this season, with a Dec. 21 date and a 1 p.m. tip.

OSU will play in College Park in the 2016-17 season.

The Terrapins, led by former Texas A&M coach Mark Turgeon, finished 17-15 overall a year ago, including a 9-9 mark in the ACC. Maryland is moving to the Big Ten Conference this season.

Along with the Terrapins, the Cowboys’ other highlight games include visits to Memphis and South Carolina and a neutral court clash with Missouri in Kansas City. OSU faces Oregon State in the opener of the MGM Grand Main Event in Las Vegas, with a second game against either Tulsa or Auburn in that tournament.

OSU’s complete schedule should be released in the next few days.
