STILLWATER — Oklahoma State is now the Big 12’s highest-ranked team following its 49-17 rout of Baylor Saturday night at Boone Pickens Stadium.

The Cowboys (10-1, 7-1 Big 12) rose to No. 7 in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls released Sunday. Baylor, meanwhile, dropped from third to ninth in the AP poll and from fourth to eighth in the Coaches poll.

Oklahoma (9-2, 6-2), which beat Kansas State 41-31 in Manhattan Saturday, rose two spots to No. 20 in the AP poll and one spot to No. 17 in the Coaches poll.

No other Big 12 schools are ranked in either poll.

The top three of both polls is identical, with Alabama, Florida State and Ohio State occupying those spots. The AP poll then has Auburn at No. 4, Missouri at No. 5 and Clemson at No. 6, while the Coaches poll has Clemson ranked fourth, Auburn fifth and Missouri sixth.

The latest BCS standings will be released Sunday night. OSU was 10th and OU 20th in the last week’s rankings.
