With Oklahoma State receiver Tracy Moore limited due to some sort of disciplinary issue, former walk-on Colton Chelf emerged as the Cowboys' surprise second option to Justin Blackmon in the 41-38 Fiesta Bowl win Monday against Stanford.

Chelf, a native of Enid, finished the game with five catches for 97 yards. He had just 16 catches for 194 yards all season.

“What a great game for a guy who walked on to our program and earned the right to play,” OSU coach Mike Gundy said on the field after the win.

Chelf's 24-yard reception in overtime, on a crossing route, set up Quinn Sharp's game-winning field goal. The catch was initially ruled a touchdown, but it was overturned by a booth review. Chelf fell a half-yard short of the goal line.

“I've got to admit,” Gundy said, “that was a bit of a downer.”

Chelf was big early, too. He had three catches for 68 yards in the first half, including a couple of big receptions on seam routes.

Moore hinted before the game on Facebook that he made “bad decisions” and would have to come off the bench. He didn't make a catch and was only noticeable on kickoffs.

Michael Harrison was also quiet in the game, but he made an important 16-yard catch late in the game to tie the game at 38.

LUCK WASN'T ONLY RUNNING QB IN FIESTA

Stanford's Andrew Luck was purported to be the mobile quarterback in the game. Brandon Weeden wanted in on that action.

Late in the second quarter, on third-and-goal from the 2, Cowboys offensive coordinator Todd Monken called for a delayed quarterback draw in a spread formation.
