The center will be used for child passenger safety education and training.

The program is named after the late Martha Collar, a former adjunct instructor at the university.

"Her devotion to child passenger safety was contagious, and instilled in me the same passion and enthusiasm,” OSU-OKC Child Development Center Director Jennifer Duclos said in a news release.

Since 2005, more than 150 technicians have been certified by the university’s early care and education degree program, university spokeswoman Jamie Galloway said.
