Oklahoma State lost out in the Barry J. Sanders sweepstakes, but the Cowboys could come out just fine in the running back department anyway.

* — has signed letter of intent
Five-star running back prospect Trey Williams, of Spring, Texas, committed to Texas A&M in April. But he told Scouts.com in late December that he would visit Oklahoma State on Jan. 28 — just days before the Feb. 1 National Signing Day.
He also told the website that he would visit A&M on Jan. 13 and Arkansas on Jan. 20.
Williams, who played in Saturday's U.S. Army All-American Bowl, told Rivals.com, that he has no plans to decommit from Texas A&M.
“I'm just showing some love and I want to make sure nobody sees things the wrong way,” Williams told Rivals. “(Arkansas is) showing love to me and I'm showing love back. I don't believe Arkansas would be a bad fit for me as well. I'm going to check out Arkansas and see how everything is going on over there.
“I don't have any intentions on de-committing or anything, I want to check the place out and basically give back the love they've been showing me.”
He told Rivals on Jan. 1 that he it is “95- or 96-percent” likely that he'll sign with Texas A&M.
Williams rushed for 3,884 yards and 48 touchdowns during his senior season, during which Dekaney won its first-ever state title.
The Cowboys have no current running back commits in the Class of 2012, but are stacked at the position on the depth chart. To-be juniors Joseph Randle and Jeremy Smith will both be back next season, as will Herschel Sims, who saw playing time as a true freshman in 2011.
