Owasso's Keon Hatcher, an Oklahoman All-State wide receiver, went on an official visit to Oklahoma State this weekend.
In a text message, the Arkansas commit told The Oklahoman the visit was “going great,” but that he remains committed to the Razorbacks, “for right now.”
He has been committed to Arkansas since August, but received his OSU offer in late November.
Hatcher, who was a key player on Owasso's run to the Class 6A semifinals during his senior year, caught 20 touchdown passes and had 1,610 yards receiving.
MICKENS PICKS UP OSU OFFER, VISITING THIS WEEKEND
Los Angeles athlete Jaydon Mickens picked up an offer from Oklahoma State days after an impressive performance in the Semper Fi-All American game in Arizona, Rivals.com reported.
Mickens, rated by Rivals as the No. 13 athlete in the class of 2012, said running backs coach Jemal Singleton made the offer shortly after he returned home from the game.
Mickens told Rivals that Singleton said he would “be perfect for their offense.”
“He told me that they don't want to bring me in and sit on the bench or redshirt or anything like that,” Mickens said. “He wanted me to come in and play right away.”
Oklahoma State is coming in late for Mickens — it is less than three weeks until National Signing Day on Feb. 1 — but the four-star prospect said he is interested in the Cowboys' program. He is in Stillwater visiting this weekend.
He has already visited Washington and will visit Oregon next weekend.
JACOBS ALSO VISITING
Arroyo Grande (Calif). Linebacker Seth Jacobs is also in Stillwater this weekend for an official visit.
Jacobs, a four-star prospect, has already visited Arizona State and Arkansas, and took an unofficial visit to Stillwater in June, Rivals.com reported.
Coach Glenn Spencer has been Jacobs' primary recruiter, he said.
“He's a great guy,” Jacobs told Rivals.com. “He's very honest and a great man. I'm really looking forward to being there with him at Oklahoma State.”
He said he'll take official visits to Colorado and UCLA after the Oklahoma State trip, and won't commit until he signs on Feb. 1.
“I haven't committed through this whole process and I do plan on announcing on signing day,” he said. “I will be notifying the coaching staffs about what's going on beforehand but no one will know where I'll be at.”
