STILLWATER — Oklahoma State has added to its 2009 recruiting class, gaining a verbal commitment from Mike Eargle, a cornerback from Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pa., The Oklahoman has learned. Lackawanna head coach Mark Duda said Tuesday that Eargle, 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, has committed to the Cowboys and will sign during a visit this weekend. Eargle was a cornerback and kick returner the last two seasons for Lackawanna. He also moved to quarterback in 2008 because of injuries at the position. “He was very unselfish,” Duda said. “He didn’t have to move to quarterback, but he knew we could be a bowl team if he did.” Duda describes Eargle as “lightning-fast” and says he could be valuable to the Cowboys as a return man as well. Eargle will graduate in May and join the Cowboys for summer workouts, Duda said. He will be the 24th member of OSU’s 2009 signing class.
