The grading curve gets skewed once the clock strikes midnight – and beyond. Bottom line: the Cowboys got a win, to move to 3-0, although it required an all-nighter.

There's a lot of lip service paid to the “student-athlete” experience. It's bogus. Let's not even get started on if the kids have been consulted on the topic of conference realignment, 3-hour rain delays and kickoffs starting after midnight, all in the name of the mighty quest for every stinking dollar? Good times.

Brandon Weeden was picked off on the game's opening possession, and a few minutes later Tulsa had a field goal and a 3-0 lead. That's where a guy like Justin Gilbert comes in handy, able to bolt 96 yards with a kickoff return for a touchdown and a needed spark.

Run Defense

Tulsa's Trey Watts and Je'Tarian Douglas each ran for more than 150 yards and the Golden Hurricane totaled 365 yards on the ground, even after TU's passing game took a hit with quarterback G.J. Kinne knocked out. Texas A&M's Cyrus Gray and Christine Michael will like this game tape.
